Dawn D

Complex Care Supervisor

About Dawn…

Career Background / Experience

My journey in the care industry began in 2016 when I joined a company dedicated to assisting individuals with challenging behaviours, mental health issues, and brain injuries. Starting as a carer, I swiftly advanced to the position of team leader due to my dedication and aptitude. Recognising my passion for providing support, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to become a supervisor.

It was in 2019, while serving as a live-in carer for a client with a spinal cord injury in Spain, that my career took a significant turn. Under the guidance of a Spanish clinical team, I received comprehensive training in catheter care, bowel management, and specialised support for individuals with similar injuries. This experience not only brought me immense satisfaction but also ignited a deep desire to delve further into the complexities of care.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly halted my work in Spain, leading me back to the UK, where I assumed the role of a care coordinator with a domiciliary company. Despite my administrative responsibilities, I found myself frequently on the road, providing direct support to clients. With eight years of experience in the field, I take pride in my accomplishments.

My current role is as a complex care supervisor within Eximius, specialising in supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries. Collaborating closely with our clinical team, I have undergone extensive training and obtained the qualifications necessary for providing comprehensive care to individuals with such injuries. My dedication to this specialised area of care continues to drive me forward in my career

Why Eximius

I joined Eximius in 2021 as Complex Care Supervisor. I had recently moved to the area and on my first meeting with the Eximius Team, I know it was the place for me. I felt the atmosphere and friendliness within the team and would offer me opportunities to grow in my career.
