Clinical Governance Lead

About Angela…

Career Background / Experience

I qualified as a registered general nurse in 1989. After two years working in intensive care, I knew my passion was long-term neurological conditions so I jumped at the chance to complete my six-month training at Stoke Mandeville and qualify as a Spinal Cord Injury Nurse.

Having had a varied career including being head of care for a group of care homes supporting people with profound learning and physical disabilities, working for Bupa as a surgical nurse and then as a clinical effectiveness nurse working on the National Quality Indicator Project for private hospitals in the UK, my passion has always remained with spinal cord injuries.

In 2003, I saw an advert for a care manager responsible for supporting people with spinal cord injuries to live in their own homes. I got the job and ended up staying with that company for 17 years with my role ending as Director of Clinical Governance.

In the last few years, I have been living between the UK and New Zealand as both a quality and governance consultant and a care coordinator before joining Eximius in 2023.
