About Dawn S…

Career Background / Experience

My nursing career started in 1996 with a BTEC in Health and Social Care at my local college. This spurred me on to become a student Nurse in 1997, qualifying in 2000 from Portsmouth School of Nursing.

My earlier role lasted 10 years, where I was a Community Matron, caring for people with all conditions, affecting their lives in multiple ways. I collaborated closely with Consultants, GP’s, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, and a talented team of rehabilitation assistants to help people improve and adapt to regain a level of independence they thought they had lost. This role gave me great satisfaction, allowing me to help with a small part of their recovery.
