Light at the end of the tunnel

It was such a pleasure to meet the Care Manager this afternoon – and what was extra wonderful was that she put my father so much at ease and really allowed him to see the benefits that a carer can give to him. He was really delighted with the meeting, and that is a huge step, as he was a little reluctant to having a carer – I think visualising it as losing control, when he is so used to living an independent life!

It was so helpful of her to state the aim was to get him out and about again – so that he could see a light at the end of the tunnel – which is so important – even if, as we get older we do, inside, know it won’t be quite as it used to be!
